For DIGESTION: The Power Within PART 1 Click HereChew on this! Nutrition starts in the mouth…Your path to better health and even spirituality depends on your daily food choices. Your health goals and desire to live a good quality life will determine your journey.
Repeating myself but WHAT you put into your mouth, every bite, will determine what raw material the body has to build your new cells. For example, healthy fats including the right omega 3s build the brain of the cell – the cell wall. Are you consuming refined vegetable oils or fish oils? OH boy, not the ideal material our cell wall requires. Click here to learn more about healthy fats.
Because YOU ARE “ONE BIG CELL REGENERATION MACHINE”, the food/nutrition absorbed into the body will be valuable. It is either working for you or against you. Magically, hamburgers do not convert into healthy functioning cells and body.
In Part 1, I wrote about: chew your food very well, do not drink water with your meal (small sips between bites are OK), eat peacefully, eat with gratitude, and eat with a good posture.
Did you chew more over the past month? Starting to chew more today will benefit you now as well as in the future. Apparently, your jaw is the strongest muscle in your body. Use it! For self defense and if ever in a pickle, remember your jaw is a strong tool.
Today, your digestive system may need a little more assistance. Part 2 covers the areas that provide more assistance to heal the digestive system.
Three areas to consider:
Food Choices – there are some common foods that people are sensitive/allergic to. Try a cleaner diet. Remove gluten foods, refined vegetable oils, sodium, soy, dairy, sugar, etc., and eat only organic whole foods. This takes a burden off of the digestive and immune system.
Food Combining – keep each meal basic. Eat vegetables with protein OR eat vegetables with starch. For example, tomato sauce with pasta (no ground beef) OR broccoli and chicken breast (no rice or potatoes). When you eat fruit, instead of a fruit salad eat just one type of fruit like apples. Not all fruits mix well together.
Digestive Assistance – perhaps digestive enzymes with each meal? Nowadays, we hear a lot about probiotics. Perhaps a probiotic? Perhaps some apple cider vinegar before meals? Start your morning off with warm water and lemon to get the digestive system moving.
As your nutrition coach, you can learn of other ways to improve your digestion via better food choices, food combining, digestive assistance, nutritional cleansing, liver flushes, and more. There are a lot of toxins and chemicals so our body does need our digestive system to be functioning well and moving along - good elimination functions that is. I love this saying: “If the bowels are dirty, the blood is dirty, and if the blood is dirty, the organs are dirty.”
Your first goal – get the bowels moving 2-3 per day…be regular. Certain cleanse programs may help you out with this.
Your second goal – elimination organs are working well so the toxins and chemicals are not accumulating in your body.

Very interesting post, Cheryl. I find it fascinating how what we eat food with can affect our ability to digest them. And how even drinking water with food can affect our digestion. (Good thing I mainly stick to wine!)
ReplyDeleteAll kidding aside, I really do find it fascinating.
