Nutrition starts in the mouth…open wide your learning brain to absorb the information in this article to better your health and to absorb more nutrition in every mouthful.Of course, WHAT you put into your mouth, every mouth full, will determine what raw material the body has to build your new cells.
YOU ARE ONE BIG CELL REGENERATION MACHINE…and it starts with digestion, and what goes into your mouth. Within a year, many of your cells are used up and need to be replaced with new ones. (Read my article Get Your Fats Right for insights on how fat is important).
How to better digestion instantly…
(Post these points in your kitchen as a constant reminder until it becomes second nature.)
1. Chew your food very well
2. Do not drink water with your meal (small sips between bites is OK)
3. Eat peacefully
4. Eat with gratitude
5. Good posture
Chew your food very well is so important. Here is a way to remember what you should do – drink your food and chew your liquid. This means that every mouthful of food, solid food, should be chewed until it reaches a liquid consistency. Why? If your food is not broken down well, your stomach will have to work harder, use up more digestive acids. If your body isn’t making enough acid, then food stays in the stomach longer – acid reflux, etc. After a while, your stomach acids are exhausted. Overused then exhausted…this holds true for many things in life.
Why chew liquids? The mouth is reading what nutrients are in your mouth for better digestion down the pipe.
Drink your water at times around your meal, for example, ½ hour before your meal and 2 hours after your meal, so you do not dilute the stomach digestive fluids and burning fire. Small sips of water during the meal are OK. You just do not want to wash down larger pieces of food.
Creating a peaceful environment while eating will be positive for digestion.
Be grateful for the food you have to eat. Say something out loud, say it softly or just in your head. Not a word needs to be spoken just a silent acknowledgement, if that is your way. Mother earth provides a place to grow the food but there are farmers that participate too, as well as others. Consider the family member that prepared the food, and if that is you, thank you. Take it one step further. When you do prepare the food…be peaceful and grateful.
Sit up, take a slow deep breath. Feel yourself straighten up. Believe it or not, your digestive system will be working better with good posture.
On a daily basis, sit up, be peaceful and grateful, chew your meal well and create a routine of eating 3 times per day using the above tips.
